Start-ups @ The smarter E Europe

Working together for a future-proof energy world

Joint booths for start-ups: Let’s get talking!

Start-ups are key drivers in creating a future-oriented energy world. By developing technological and digital solutions, they help make tomorrow’s solar products a reality and contribute to a renewable 24/7 energy supply. Innovative strength, agility, boldness and the development of products that are tailored to the market make start-ups a crucial building block of the energy transition.

Approaches to decarbonization, the optimization of generation technologies and energy consumption, the promotion of smart grids and software solutions for energy management play a significant role. They are the reason for the energy industry’s great interest in start-ups. Alternative financing models such as crowdfunding or impact investing also enable start-ups to mobilize capital for the transformation of our energy system from unconventional channels.

The smarter E Europe promotes the contribution that start-ups make to the energy sector by offering them an exclusive, sponsored exhibition area. At The smarter E Europe 2024, you can visit around 150 outstanding start-ups at the Start-up Area in hall B5.

With the search term Start-up you will find the participants of the Start-up Area 2024 in the exhibitor list .

Innovations and new business models up close at the Start-up Stage

Start-up Area participants will be introducing themselves in brief 10-minute presentations on the Start-up Stage. This is where the pioneers of tomorrow will present their sophisticated solutions for innovative business models.

Start-up Stage (booth C5.374): daily from June 19–21, 10:30am–3:00pm, product pitches from innovative start-ups

Joint booth “Innovation made in Germany”: The joint booth of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) offers young German companies an effective platform to present their products and services. Up to 30 start-ups will be presenting themselves here.

Weather and Yield Forecasts Support Smart Power Grids

April 11, 2023

When energy meteorologists make false predictions, it can have an expensive impact on short-term trading on the energy exchange. Tools for weather and yield forecast support smart power grids.

Industry Voices
Jochen Schwill, CEO Next Kraftwerke

"Our virtual power plant connects solar and wind farms, electricity storage systems, Power-to-X installations and more. This allows us to help balance out fluctuations in energy supply and demand. With its focus on smart renewable energy, EM-Power is the perfect platform for us to showcase what we have to offer.”

Industry Voices
Robert Busch, Managing Director Bundesverband Neue Energiewirtschaft

"To drive forward the energy transition, electricity, heat and transport sectors must be coupled. This is the only way to efficiently integrate renewables into the energy system via load shifting, storage and power-to-X technologies. EM-Power Europe will show how sector coupling can be implemented in neighborhoods."

Industry Voices
Hans Korteweg, Geschäftsführer bei COGEN Europe

Cogeneration is evolving into the backbone of a decentralized, integrated energy system where energy will be generated and consumed at a local or distributed level. We support EM-Power Europe as a partner because all stakeholders of a decentralized energy system come together here.
