AI-Based Energy Management: The Future Is Now

The smarter E Podcast Episode 189 | September 5, 2024 | Language: German

For cheap, climate-friendly electricity, generation, storage and consumption must be optimally coordinated. AI-based energy management could play an important role here in the future and support the optimal use of renewables.

But how do such tools work? How can millions of electricity consumers be harmonized with the availability of sun and wind? And what role do electric cars play as collective storage in energy management? Dennis Schulmeyer, CEO of LADE GmbH, reveals all this and more.

Timeline:

  • 01:03 How can optimized energy management help to promote the integration of renewable energies into the power grid?
  • 07:56 LADE has developed its own AI-based energy management platform. How does the tool use artificial intelligence to forecast the availability of green energy and individual consumption patterns?
  • 10:23 What are the benefits of using self-learning systems in energy management and how does the system improve through continuous user feedback?
  • 13:02 How can bidirectional AC charging contribute to stabilizing the power grid?

About Dennis Schulmeyer and LADE GmbH

Dennis Schulmeyer, CEO from LADE GmbH

The Mainz-based start-up LADE develops and produces complete solutions for charging electric cars that combine innovative charging electronics, AI-supported cloud software and mobile apps. The system offers significant cost benefits in terms of installation and operation, enables convenient charging and makes particularly efficient use of electricity from renewable energy sources. The range includes products for operators of charging infrastructure (e.g. parking companies, retailers, local authorities, restaurants, etc.), companies from the energy sector and private individuals.

Dennis Schulmeyer is the founder and CEO of LADE. He founded his first company, an IT system house, a good 20 years ago. He bought his first fully electric vehicle in 2012. At that time, the trained electrician installed the city's first public charging station at his home in Mainz and at the same time developed his first ideas for a fully integrated charging solution. In 2020, he founded LADE to put these ideas into practice. His team of now more than 40 people combines expertise from the fields of electronics, software development and smart IT.
