Merry Christmas

Is the glass half full or half empty? This metaphor symbolizes optimism versus pessimism. In 2022, the global community has been deeply shaken by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The energy world was thrown into turmoil over night. That being said, energy shortages and the skyrocketing prices of oil and gas have set something in motion that the climate crisis had been slow to accomplish: The expansion of renewables has taken up great speed. The International Energy Agency (IEA) expects global capacity growth to nearly double by 2027. This massive rise exceeds last year’s forecast by 30%. According to the IEA , renewables will account for more than 90% of global electricity expansion in the next five years.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing energy crisis have brought home that so much is possible – if only we have the will. That is why to us, the glass is half full. Events around the globe are reflecting that renewables are reeling to go, just like Santa’s reindeer. And like dinosaurs, fossil fuels will soon be a thing of the distant past.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your commitment to accelerating the transition to the new energy world, and wish you a peaceful holiday season. Join us in starting 2023 with optimism, as the year in which we take another great step towards a climate-neutral energy supply!

Are European Grids Smart Enough for the Future?

September 14, 2021

In the webinar, you will learn what tasks need to be solved from the perspective of a utility in order to remain competitive.

Industry Voices
Robert Busch, Managing Director Bundesverband Neue Energiewirtschaft

"To drive forward the energy transition, electricity, heat and transport sectors must be coupled. This is the only way to efficiently integrate renewables into the energy system via load shifting, storage and power-to-X technologies. EM-Power Europe will show how sector coupling can be implemented in neighborhoods."

Industry Voices
Hans Korteweg, Geschäftsführer bei COGEN Europe

Cogeneration is evolving into the backbone of a decentralized, integrated energy system where energy will be generated and consumed at a local or distributed level. We support EM-Power Europe as a partner because all stakeholders of a decentralized energy system come together here.

Industry Voices
Jochen Schwill, CEO Next Kraftwerke

"Our virtual power plant connects solar and wind farms, electricity storage systems, Power-to-X installations and more. This allows us to help balance out fluctuations in energy supply and demand. With its focus on smart renewable energy, EM-Power is the perfect platform for us to showcase what we have to offer.”

Industry Voices
Frauke Thies, Executive Director, smartEn (Smart Energy Europe)

"Prosumers are playing an increasingly important role in the energy transition. By generating, consuming or storing electricity in a self-distributed manner, they ensure a balance between the supply and demand of renewable energies in a smart grid. At EM-Power Europe, the topic will get the attention it deserves."
