Febuary 6, 2019 - Since the German Federal Office for Information Security certified the first smart meter gateway in mid-December 2018, customers have already had the devices installed. Eight more gateways are currently undergoing the certification process. A special area of EM-Power is going to be dedicated to displaying the state-of-the-art for gateway technology. more

February 6, 2019 - Siemens AG opened its new campus in the Swiss municipality of Zug in December. The campus includes a new office building and a new production building. A building automation system complete with energy optimization controls the building technology. Water from Lake Zug is used as a heat source. more

November 22, 2018 – After the international Berlin Brandenburg Airport opens, the site of Berlin’s old Tegel Airport will be turned into a research and industry park for urban technologies as well as a residential development with over 5,000 homes. The heating and cooling systems will be developed by E.ON and the municipal utility Berliner Stadtwerke. more

Clean energy retrofits

November 16, 2018 – The German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) has named the Stegerwald estate in Cologne’s Mülheim district as its 87th climate protection housing estate. Stegerwald is also the largest project to be selected for the scheme to date. The housing company DEWOG is retrofitting around 600 apartments in 16 buildings from the 1950s. more
