Under the EEG 2027, 'other direct marketing' is expected to become the standard form of marketing for all installations under 25 kW. A key component of this will be the market integration of storage systems and charging points (MiSpeL). In particular, storage systems and charging infrastructure are to be actively integrated into the market. The aim is to reward flexibility. Storage systems preferentially charge electricity during periods of low prices and feed it back into the grid during shortages. Charging points and consumers deliberately shift their demand to take advantage of solar peaks and mitigate periods of low wind and low sunlight. This makes the EEG 2027 a policy instrument for system stability, rather than merely an expansion programme.
