This session explores hydrogen in its many roles in the EU energy system. From the feasibility of large-scale underground storage and the economics of European hydrogen infrastructure, to the practicalities of converting existing gas networks for residential hydrogen heating, to bottom-up opportunities for integrating hydrogen into local distribution networks in Germany and a look at hydrogen's potential in hard-to-abate industrial applications with high-temperature heat demands beyond conventional electrification.
