Individual company presentation

The Green by IT-Team improves the system integration of renewable energy production using IT systems. We study temporal decoupling of energy production and consumption by means of battery storage, optimization of power consumption as well as the use of network services to manage distributed battery systems. Comprehensive knowledge in the design and control of complex IT systems is being applied to achieve the goal of an IT-based, safe, environmentally-sound, and economic energy supply.

We provide development and consultation in the following areas:

  • Forecast of PV-production and consumption
  • Vendor-independent energy management system for controlling heat pumps, battery storage and charging stations for electromobiles (sector coupling)
  • Web-based aggregation and management-platform for our energymanagement system
  • Technical simulation and optimization of energy systems
  • Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0
  • Trainings courses an consultation in the fields of:
    • Big Data and Data Science
    • Energyblockchain
    • IT-Security of critical infrastructure

The Green by IT group is a business segment of Fraunhofer ITWM in Kaiserslautern, one of the biggest mathematical research institutes worldwide. Clients are large international companies as well as small and medium regional enterprises. Fraunhofer ITWM focuses on the development of mathematical applications for industry, technology and economy. Mathematical approaches to practical challenges are the specific competences of the institute and complement knowledge in engineering and economics in an optimal way. The main emphases are surface quality inspection, financial mathematics, visualization of large data sets, optimization of production processes, virtual material design and analysis of 3d models of micro structures.
