Voltage regulators - longitudinal regulators
WALCHER has decades of experience in the manufacture and design of voltage regulators and longitudinal regulators. As early as 1959, engineer Friedrich Walcher developed and successfully implemented the first line controller for Pfalzwerke.
Since then, grid controllers have been one of the most important product lines at WALCHER, and have become increasingly important in the last 25 years due to photovoltaic systems.
Areas of application for longitudinal or voltage regulators
Voltage regulators are manufactured by WALCHER in the power range from 34 kVA to 630 kVA and, under certain conditions, can avoid the need to build new transformer stations or at least delay them for several years so that the investment funds thus freed up can be used elsewhere.
The classic case for the use of a grid regulator is always when the low-voltage lines leading from a local grid transformer can no longer comply with the prescribed permissible voltage tolerances of +/-3% of the nominal voltage in the LV grid (or +/-10% at the end consumer) due to increased connected loads, the connection of PV systems or line extensions.
