The digitalization platform BentoNet enables utilities and grid operators as well as smaller electricity-generating facilities such as hospitals with their own CHP plant or multi-story parking garages with PV systems and charging stations to collect and process data from their energy grids. Newly founded by Siemens Financial Services and GBS Beteiligungs GmbH and headquartered in Baden-Baden, BentoNet GmbH produces and sells the necessary hardware and software. Plant operators can therefore concentrate on their core activities and save money in the process.
The data are transmitted to a data center via the company’s own secure mobile network connection. Customers can use the platform to access their data and analyze them using their own or third-party applications. The desired applications can be custom compiled via an app store, which also offers tools for asset and energy management as well as for linking decentralized systems to the energy market. The app store also features apps specially designed for data analysis and generation prognoses.
The software as a service platform covers the entire value chain, from field communication to the process level (control system) to the database and web levels. In other words, the platform lays the foundations for new business models on the decentralized energy market of tomorrow.
