Balancing the Grid with Local Flexibility

Free Webinar

Tuesday, January 17, 2023 | 11:00am–12:20pm CET | Webinar Language: English

The EU is currently facing an energy resilience and energy affordability crisis. To the current context of scarcity of supply while decarbonising the ecomony, we have in addition a change in locality of energy resources, with significant amounts of new demand and electricity generation in places where they were not previously present, notably at the edge of the system, in the form of distributed energy resources.

The current Electricity Market Design already foresees that DSOs shall procure flexibility services from these resources, in accordance with transparent, non-discriminatory and market-based procedures. This is however not yet the case across all of Europe, with different levels of implementation and experience by DSOs.

Join us in this webinar together with some of Europe's leading service providers and DSOs to learn about how they are developing new systems to procure flexibility from local resources to deal with system constraints. We will look at three different perspectives, from the aggregator selling flexibility to the buyers, local DSOs and learn how they are incorporating flexibility in their network plans as an alternative for further grid infrastructure reinforcement.

During the webinar participants can submit their questions to get them answered by the experts in the live Q&A. In addition, both the recording and the speakers' presentations are made available to all registrants after the webinar.
